[What are the three mountains of Dewa ？ ]
Located in the center of Yamagata Prefecture. Haguro （ present ）, Gassan （ past ）, and Yudono （ future ） in the Haguro Shugendo tradition, which was born out of the magnificent nature.
Touring the three mountains spread among the common people in the Edo period (1603-1868) as a "rebirth journey," and with the support of the local people, the ancient Japanese connection between mountain nature and faith has been handed down to the present. The journey begins in the town of Monzenmachi, which represents the mundane world, and Zuijinmon Gate is the boundary that invites visitors to the Shinto realm. The approach to the temple is flanked on both sides by a row of heavenly cedar trees that reach to the summit of the mountain, reminding visitors of the spirituality of nature and the awe of nature, and energizing their bodies and minds for tomorrow.
